1. Information We Collect
Account information (email, encrypted password), photos and notes you create, GPS coordinates attached to photos (when location permission is granted), device type and OS version for compatibility, anonymous session usage data for app improvement. We do not collect payment card details — these are handled by Apple or Google.
2. How We Use Data
To provide core app features (camera, folders, OCR search, sync); to process subscriptions via RevenueCat; to send transactional email via SendGrid or Mailgun; to send push notifications via OneSignal; to debug and improve the app using anonymized usage data. We do not sell your data.
3. Data Storage & Security
Photos and notes stored in Google Cloud Storage. Database records in Google Firestore. All data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access authenticated via Firebase Auth. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. See Section 7 for deletion timelines.
4. Third-Party Services
Google Cloud Vision API (OCR text extraction from photos); Google Maps Platform (GPS reverse geocoding to location labels); Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage; RevenueCat (subscription management); OneSignal (push notifications); SendGrid or Mailgun (transactional email). Each service is governed by its own privacy policy.
5. Location Data
“While Using” permission only — location is accessed only when you open the app and capture a photo. GPS coordinates are stored with photos and displayed as readable labels (e.g., “Holdrege, NE”). You may deny location permission; the app works normally without it — photos will have no location label.
6. Subscriptions & Payments
Subscriptions processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. RimpTech LLC does not have access to your payment card details. All billing disputes handled through Apple or Google. Annual subscribers qualify for the 60-day money-back guarantee.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Active accounts: data retained indefinitely. Cancelled accounts: read-only for 30 days, then scheduled for deletion. Deleted accounts: permanent deletion within 30 days. Early deletion requests: email support@forgottenacre.com. In-app deletion flow available via Settings → Account → Delete Account.
8. Children’s Privacy
Forgotten Acre is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover such data was collected, we will delete it immediately.
9. Changes to Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes communicated via in-app notification and email with 7 days’ notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
